It was an honor and a pleasure for AFA Sports to have the incredible opportunity to kit out the Nigerian team of athletes that competed at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year, making us the first African brand ever to do so. Our role as the Official Apparel Partner for the Nigerian Olympics Team at Tokyo 2020 is an achievement we will never forget.
It is inspiring to see that Nigeria’s Sports minister is supporting indigenous businesses, and we hope that a spotlight will be shed on more proudly Nigerian companies in the future.
The AFA Sports Olympic Kits
55 Nigerian athletes received sportswear from AFA Sports to compete in the Olympics this year. A lot of research and work went into sourcing quality material and coming up with striking, memorable designs. The men’s and women’s tracksuits are the first African designs that graced the Olympic arena.
It was a challenge to create all of these Olympic sports uniforms in time, and we were responsible for creating hundreds of garments, including Polo shirts, slippers, backpacks, windbreakers, T-shirts, jersey shorts, and so much more.
We focused on quality, comfort, and making our Nigerian athletes easily identifiable through their kit.
Well Done To Our Medalists!
Nigeria successfully won two medals at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. These medals were won by Blessing Oborududu, who won a silver medal for wrestling, and Ese Brume, who won a bronze medal in athletics. Their achievements have brought much joy to the people of Nigeria and will go down in history!
We use this opportunity to congratulate these medal winners and all other Nigerian athletes who took part in the Olympics this year. It is the dream of many athletes to get the opportunity to compete, and we commend you on your hard work and many hours of dedication that it took to get there.
